Find us

We’re located in the seaside town of Seaton and are surrounded the Blackdown Hills, Dorset and East Devon National Landscapes (formerly known as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty).

A spacious guest suite

Our open plan guest suite is light and airy and features a living area (with two comfortable armchairs) a writing/reading area (with desk, office chair and USB charging socket) and a 42″ flatscreen TV (with screen-casting capability). It is ideal for both couples and single guests seeking a little more space (the total floorspace is 36 square metres – much larger than a standard double hotel room).

Sleeps 2 in comfort

Sleep comfortably in our king-size Hypnos bed with a high-quality British-made Baavet wool duvet and 100% cotton linen (alternative bedding options are also available on request). There are two bedside drawer units, each with a touch lamp.

En-suite bathroom

Guests can either take a quick shower or enjoy a relaxing bubble bath (the light and spacious en-suite bathroom has both a full-size bath and walk-in shower). There’s also a heated towel rail and a built-in Bluetooth mirror speaker (play your favourite tunes while you relax!). Guest towels are also provided for your stay.

A home from home

The guest suite features a kitchenette area with a fridge (and ice compartment) and worktop for basic food/drink preparation. Guests can help themselves to complimentary teas and coffees using the supplied kettle, coffee percolator and teapot.

Guests are welcome to bring their own drinks (including alcohol) and a bottle opener and wine glasses are providedA microwave is available for guests wishing to prepare hot snacks or ready meals.

Relax in the garden

Harepath End guests have exclusive use of the private garden at the rear of the property. This peaceful area is a wildlife haven and the ideal spot to unwind whilst reading a book. Please note, access to the garden is via several steps (there is no handrail).

Unwind on the terrace

Guests can relax on the private terrace (located outside the entrance to the guest suite). In the Spring and Summer this is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or evening glass of wine. The terrace overlooks a privately owned orchard and a large bird feeder (if you like watching birds, see  how many of the many visiting species you can identify!).

Gain easy access

Access is via a wide and gently sloping private driveway and double patio door. There are no stairs and everything is on the ground floor level with only the door threshold to negotiate.  Guests can drop off luggage directly outside the guest suite entrance and park just a few metres away. Although it is not ideally suited to wheelchair users, those with reduced mobility will appreciate the easy access.

Convenient parking

Off-street parking is somewhat of a rarity in Seaton, so guests will be pleased to know Harepath End has a dedicated guest parking space. For those of you on two wheels or undertaking water sports, we can also (by prior appointment) arrange to securely store your cycle,  motorcycle or equipment in the garage (giving you extra peace of mind).

Wide appeal

Harepath End will appeal to guests looking for a comfortable, peaceful and convenient place to stay. It is suitable for both single guests and couples.

Harepath End makes the perfect base for exploring the Jurassic Coast, with Sidmouth and Exmouth to the West, Lyme Regis and the glorious Dorset countryside to the East and the Blackdown Hills to the North.

Whether you’re taking part in a local event (such as the famous Seaton Grizzly run), doing some bird watching on Seaton Wetlands, visiting friends or family, planning a business trip, or are simply passing through the area as part of your travels… you will be assured a very warm welcome!

Did you know?

The name Harepath is not related to the local population of hares (of which there are many!). It is actually derived from Middle English ‘here-path’ and Old English ‘here-pæð’ meaning ‘army path’ or ‘military road’.
Where these roads exist today, local legend often imputes them with magical, romantic or mystical origins!
